My Story

Last year I had the pleasure of taking part in the St Luke's midnight walk, it was a challenge to myself but also to honour family and friends who have utilised the wonderful services provided by St Lukes.

I signed up to the challenge with friends, one was a very brave friend who was battling cancer, and we did it.  It was amazing!  This year my friend asks me if I would do it again, i thought about it and though I really wanted to my response was

'hmm i'm not sure, i'd like to but it hurt me physically, took a lot out of me and anyway this year i want to do something really crazy instead!'

'Like what?' asks my friend

'oh i dunno, i wanna raise loads of money, so it has to be big, maybe get thrown out of plane, loads of people would surely pay good money to see that!'

So i started investigating my options at the beginning of the year.  Then my friend's battle with cancer reached a crescendo, we sadly lost an amazing lady from our lives.  But on the day that we last saw her i got this email from St Lukes, providing details of all thier fundraising events.  I couldn't stop looking, there it was, a chance to get thrown out of a plane and raise money for a very worthy cause!

So here I am, and oh my word it's really happening!!  This year,  on 6th July, I will leap out of a plane in honour of an awesome lady and an amazing cause.  Please any pennies you can spare will go to helping support people with specialist care to help them feel human and cared for when they most need it.  The work these guys do under some of the most heart breaking times of people's life really is amazing, please help raise their profile and support them as they support others
